Apprentice Dental Nurse

Jelena joined Shine earlier this year to train as a Dental Nurse and a Receptionist. She will be attending College alongside working at the Clinic to become a qualified Dental Nurse. Jelena lives locally and enjoys spending time with her friends and family and also running in her spare time.

Jaco Van de Merwe

Dentist

Having qualified in 1995 from the University of Pretoria in South Africa, he came over to the UK in 1997 and has worked as a Dental Associate and has owned two practices in Wokingham. His knowledge and experience in general and cosmetic dentistry is highly sought after and we feel very privileged with him joining our team.

Vijay Bhargava

Dentist

Vijay graduated in 2003 from Barts and The Royal London Queen Mary’s School of Medicine and Dentistry achieving Bachelor in Dental Surgery (BDS) with Distinction in Oral & Related Systemic Diseases. He was awarded a Distinction for the 4 year Diploma in Implant Dentistry, and received an award for Outstanding Achievement in Implant Dentistry at Eastman Dental Institute, Centre of Excellence, University College London. Vijay is passionate about implant dentistry and keen to provide all of his patients with the best achievable result. Committed to developing implant skills, he attends courses regularly in the UK & abroad. Out side of dentistry Vijay enjoys spending time with his young family and has been known to run the odd marathon or two!

Carlos Jimenez Jurado

Dentist

Dr Carlos Jimenez Jurado qualified at Alfonso X University in Madrid in 2005.
Carlos enjoys all aspects of dentistry and has attended several courses in implantology and cosmetic dentistry. This has given him the expertise and skills to perform implant procedures in even the most complex cases.
Carlos always keeps up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques available in modern dentistry.
He always puts his patients’ well-being first and is especially gentle with nervous patients.
Outside of work, Carlos enjoys travelling and is a keen sportsman.

Pam Woolford

Hygienist

Pam Woolford has been a Health Professional for over 30 years with a background in Nursing and Medical Pathology. Pam trained at UCH London as a Dental Nurse, winning the prestigious silver medal while she also attained the RSH Diploma in Dental Health Education. She then went on to work in Harley Street, and then as a Dental Health Promoter for Brent AHA. In 1982 Pam qualified as a Dental Hygienist from Guys Hospital winning the Oral B Prize. Being an advocate for Life-Long learning Pam studied with the Open University part time for 4 years and gained a first class honours degree in Human Biology and Health with a distinction in Health Promotion. She then worked at the Eastman Dental Hospital as a Hygiene tutor as well as setting up and running a Dental Nursing course at BCOT while she studied for her FETC. In 2004 Pam went on to gain a Master’s degree with Merit from Surrey University in Nutritional Medicine and she has recently qualified as a Pilates Teacher. Pam’s passion is in Health Promotion and when not working as a Hygienist she combines Nutrition and Pilates. Her caring and empathic nature allows her to come alongside her clients to motivate and empower them.

Kelly

Head Dental Nurse

Kelly is a fully qualified dental nurse. She has experience in working within oral surgery and also alongside a periodontal specialist. She has post qualifications including Advanced Implant training, Impression Taking and Radiography and is currently undergoing the SAAD sedation qualification. With her spare time Kelly likes to run and also enjoys cooking, baking and eating!

Kelly is looking forward to gaining even more experience and will be found not only in the surgery but also on our reception desk too, waiting to greet you all with her best Shine smile.

Maria

Dental Nurse

Maria has recently joined the Shine Team, and is a fully qualified Dental Nurse.

Maria is a busy mum to 2 young children and is trying to combine family life with full time work.

In her spare time she likes to attend dance classes and being an outside type of person you can quite often see her walking and jogging.

Sharon Edwards

Clinic Manager

Shine’s Clinic Manager Sharon has worked within the dental world for over 20 years, so she has gathered a wealth of knowledge and expertise to offer to both staff and our patients. Her welcoming character and diligent nature means that patients can guarantee that they are in the best possible hands, whilst the clinic is kept running smoothly and efficiently.

Sharon is a country girl through and through and enjoys being outdoors whenever she can. Her thorough knowledge of the local area means that the clinic can stay up to date with the local news and events- a skill which often leads to various local appearances with our staff in numerous fancy dress outfits!

Wendy Green

Hygienist

Wendy qualified as a dental hygienist and dental therapist at St Bartholomew’s and Royal London Hospital in 2002.

She has experience in general and specialist dental practices. In 2013 Wendy attended advanced concepts in periodontal therapy training.

Wendy lives locally with her family and can be found out and about in the local area entertaining her 2 young children.

Dina Parmar

Dentist and Owner

Dina is Shine’s Principal Dentist and the Clinic’s proud owner. Dina qualified from Sheffield University in 2003. She believes in the importance of continual learning and together with her staff regularly attends dental training to ensure they are providing the finest service to their patients. Since qualifying, Dina has completed a number of postgraduate qualifications in Dentistry to ensure her patients are receiving treatment of the highest standards. Dina has completed her SAAD course in conscious sedation training and is proud to offer treatment under sedation at Shine.Dina previously worked in the Alton area for a number of years. However, opening her own clinic had been a long held dream.With a caring nature Dina is passionate about providing the highest level of care and ensures all patients are treated as she would wish to be treated. Dina is especially keen to promote preventative dentistry to patients, taking her time to educate patients, or to answer any questions. This philosophy of attentive care was of paramount importance when choosing her staff.Outside of work Dina’s time is spent with her twin girls who keep her very busy!
