What are dental veneers?

Dental veneers are strong, thin and very aesthetic restorations that are fitted over the front surface of your natural teeth. They resemble shells and are custom-made to blend seamlessly into your smile or create a dramatic smile transformation. We use modern materials to ensure incredible results.

Veneers can be used to conceal various dental imperfections, such as discolouration, chips, small gaps, or misalignment. Whether you need one veneer, or opt for a whole arch of porcelain veneers, the treatment is quick and effective. Dental veneers can give you highly natural-looking and long-lasting results, boosting your confidence in your beautiful smile.

What happens during veneers treatment?

Consultation

At your detailed dental veneer consultation, we examine your teeth, making sure they are healthy and suitable for treatment. We explain the treatment process with you and give you the chance to ask any questions about veneers or our care.

Planning and preparation

We take digital scans and impressions of your teeth so your veneers can be created. We work closely with you to ensure you are happy with the look of your veneers. We can even show you a preview of your new smile! Your personalised veneers are crafted in a dental laboratory. To ensure a perfect colour match, we may refer you to the lab for shade selection. If necessary, we’ll gently prepare your teeth by removing a minimal layer of enamel

Fitting

When your veneers are ready, we invite you to a fitting appointment. We make sure the look is exactly as you expected before removing any temporary veneers and fixing the new ones in place. We use strong dental adhesive to ensure a secure bond between the veneer and your natural tooth.

Results

You are able to see your new smile straightaway! We give you some tips and advice for looking after your veneers and let you get on with enjoying your new confident and beautiful smile.

Frequently asked questions

What are the benefits of getting veneers?

Veneers are a very effective way to change the appearance of your teeth in a relatively short time compared to some other cosmetic treatments. You can change the look of one or more teeth, improving colour and shape.

What can veneers be used for?

Veneers can be used to conceal imperfections on your teeth, or to give a complete smile transformation. They can be placed to mask discolouration and cover chipped or cracked teeth. We can also use veneers to improve the look of misaligned teeth, or to close small gaps between teeth.

How long do veneers last?

Porcelain veneers can last for up to 15 years if they are looked after correctly. When required, we can replace your veneers easily. If some of your natural tooth enamel has been removed to accommodate veneers, you will always need a veneer on your tooth.

How do I look after my dental veneers?

Keep your veneers problem-free with a regular oral hygiene routine at home, including brushing and flossing twice a day. You should also take care when biting into hard foods, and make sure you don’t use your teeth to open anything. It is also important to visit your dentist for regular check-ups.
